Steve Simmonds, Founder

In the late 1990’s, Steve Simmonds was the president of a successful construction business in California. But by 1999, Simmonds’ frustration level had reached its peak. He loved his job and appreciated his workers, but his unreliable, handwritten payroll system was inaccurate and difficult to process.

Within a year, Simmonds created a way to save time and money for all contractors. He developed a timekeeping system called the JobClock, a portable, rugged, easy-to-use time clock that reduces payroll frustration and increases business productivity. He sold his first system in 2000, and opened his business, ExakTime, that same year. Ten years later, Exaktime’s multiple award-winning ExakTime System now serves more than 700,000 workers worldwide.
