Oh no, not another boring "About Us" story...
If you're busy like me, you don't have the time to read a bunch of polished "history" written by a marketing department.
So let me give it to you straight...and I'll stick to the highlights.
In 1999, I was fed up with getting ripped off. I showed up at a jobsite and no one was there. But on Friday, I got the usual batch of handwritten timecards. 40 hours.
Bad news for me, but I had to pay.
So I got together with my friends...and we built a better mousetrap - the JobClock.
We started selling a few here, and a few there - and before we knew it, we couldn't keep it on the shelves.
A lot has happened in the past 10 years. Our customers are more sophisticated. Not everyone feels like they're getting ripped off. It's not about honesty as much as it is about fairness and accountability.
But one thing I know - labor is a precious and costly resource.
You can bury your head in the sand, do things the old way, and be baffled week after week why things just don't feel right. It works, but in tough times, it's pretty costly.
Or you can manage it well, pay what's fair, and run a good business.
By knowing who's doing what, and where they're doing it - and keeping those accurate records at your fingertips, you can accurately track your costs, control liability, and fully take advantage of the features in your accounting software.
As we've grown, we've launched many more tools - all with the goal of being simple to use (listen, if I can use it, anyone can use it).
Now we offer mobile smartphone software, GPS tracking applications, equipment tracking, accounting and payroll integration software.
And yes, we still sell lots and lots of JobClocks, too.
Construction is part of our past and our future, and we've expanded past construction, into landscaping, oil & gas, mining, agriculture, schools, and more. In fact, anywhere where you need time and labor tracking that's "rugged and simple to use," you'll find us.
I'm really proud of what we've built. Every system we sell makes a real impact on the businesses that choose to use it.
