Another trade show under our belts! ExakTime was just at INTEX Expo 15—a trade show for the drywall and interior-exterior industries that took place just down the road this year in Long Beach, Calif., on April 29 and 30. About 2,000 guests were in attendance.

    ExakTime has been to the show in the past, but not since 2006, so it was a bit of a homecoming. Anthony Alexandre, our trade show guru, led the charge by setting up a strong and newly updated 10 x 20’ booth, and nine ExakTimers showed up to join him over the two-day show.

    This included some of our trade show “old hands” (i.e. Mike D., Steve R.), some up-and-comers like A.J., as well as three folks who were totally new to the trade show experience, though they’ve already proven their chops on the sales floor: Sepi, Bill and Anna.

    Companies ranging from 10 to up to 1,500 employees were represented at the show. Anthony noted that there were attendees from all sectors of the industry—painting, drywall, metal framing, insulation—and that lots of companies, new and old, are breaking new ground with the greening of the industry. “The industry seems to be on the upswing as the economy recovers,” he said.

    What’s Up, ExakTime spoke to Sepi, Bill and Anna about their first ExakTime trade show:

    “It was great to speak with prospects and customers face-to-face,” Sepi said. “The best part was showing them how to use ExakTime Mobile, and when FaceFront Biometrics popped up to take a picture, they jumped and said ‘Oh, cool!’”

    “I really appreciated getting to see how much goes into what Anthony does on the floor and to prepare for the show,” Bill noted. “The marketing department’s attention to detail really sets us up for success. I also enjoyed talking to business owners and foremen/supervisors on a more personal level. The best experience was when a customer of mine, Tuff Kote, stopped by to tell me he saved $1,800 on his first payroll using ExakTime with a 20-employee company.”

    Anna said: “Going to INTEX was really rewarding. I was there on the second day, and there was still buzz around our booth. Collecting leads at the show was easier than I thought—I enjoyed having face-to-face conversations.”

    We collected a number of great leads at the show, and several of our customers stopped by the booth to say hello. “We’re solidly in this industry,” Anthony said. “I think it’s going to be a great show for us in the future.”
