It was a race, but we all won.
For this year’s food drive, ExakTime broke the company up into three teams of 20-25 each to see who could collect the most canned or dry goods last week. The three “team tables” ended up with about 200 food items a piece.
A few of our heartier young workers (who were lucky enough to be around at 4:30pm last Friday) then helped load all the food into boxes. The boxes went into the back of our sales manager’s Suburban—and filled it all the way up!
The entire haul was delivered to the not-for-profit organization Many Mansions, which provides housing and services to very low income and recently homeless individuals, families, veterans, seniors and the disabled in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
“Many Mansions has placed more than 1,300 residents in refurbished old hotels and apartment buildings. It’s a great organization,” said ExakTime Sales Manager Karen Kennedy.
Marketing Developer Chris Schultz, who was among the company muscle packing up boxes, estimated there were 20 small and four large boxes of green beans, corn, canned yams and pumpkins, turkey gravy, stuffing mix, no-bake pies, canned fruit, and much more.
The food is being divided into baskets and delivered to residents at the various communities, i.e. the housing complexes where Many Mansions places them, to use for Thanksgiving.
“ExakTime collected enough to feed three ‘communities’,” Kennedy said. “I’m so glad we were able to help this much.”
